Mojo Bluesmen
Live at the Glass House - Port Macquarie
I was pretty happy with how this project turned out. It was a 2 camera shoot, both being Canon XH-A1's.
Camera 1 was the wide shot taken from the back of the room where there was tripod locked in position for the whole performance.
I was on Camera 2 and I was down the front. I was laid back in one of the front row seats with nothing but a camera.
Because I knew most of my shots were going to be tight, I had my elbows locked into my body to make my shots more stable. I don't like to use any stabilising equipment for jobs like this because I like to add in those quick jerking shots that help give the illusion that there are more then 2 camera.
As you can see by these videos, with the correct editing style, this technique is very effective and can make a 2 camera shoot look more like a 3 or 4 camera shoot without the extra cost. It can be adapted to various other projects and is well worth the investment.
